Title II is a federal mandate. Sections 205 through 208 of the Title II of the Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA) call for accountability for programs that prepare teachers. The Higher Education Act was signed in 1998, and legislation was reauthorized in 2008. California Institution of Higher Educations (IHEs) report annually to the States in April. States report annually to the U.S. Department of Education in October.

Provides information on when students are formally admitted into initial teacher certification program.
- Admission Entry Exit Requirement
Provides information on 15 elements - ACT, Background, Basic Skills, Content GPA, Credits, Essay, Fingerprint, GPA, Interview, Other, Professional GPA, Recommendation, SAT, Subject Area, and Transcript.
- GPA Requirement
Provides information on Grade Point Average (GPA) requirement reported for each teacher preparation program.
Provides enrollment data by gender and ethnicity for each teacher preparation program for the most recent academic year.
- Clinical Experience
Provides data on number of supervised clinical experience hours required prior to student teaching, for student teaching, mentoring, number of Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) faculty and Adjunct faculty involved in supervised clinical experience, and number of students participating in supervised clinical experience.
- Teachers by Subject Area
Provides data on number of program completers prepared by subject area for most recent academic years.
- Teachers by Academic Major
Provides data on number of program completers prepared by their undergraduate major for the most recent academic year.
- Program Completers
Provides data for program completers for the last three years.
Provides information on annual goals set by each teacher preparation program for teacher shortage areas such as Mathematics, Science, and Special Education. Limited English Proficiency (LEP) data is collected for the Title II report but will not be available on the dashboards.
Provides information on teacher preparation program if they are in compliance with the following assurances - identify needs of Local Education Agencies; teachers prepared in core subjects; students with disabilities, Limited English Proficiency, low-income families.
- Accreditation Status
Provides information on accreditation status of the teacher preparation program. If the program is accredited by the state, NCATE, or other accreditation agencies. Also, if the program is designated as "Low Performing" by the state.
- Use of Technology
Provides information on teacher preparation program if they use technology - integrate technology effectively into curricula and instruction; to collect data to improve teaching and learning; to manage data to improve teaching and learning; to analyze data to improve teaching and learning.
- Teacher Training
Provides information on teacher preparation programs if they prepare both general education and special education teachers to teach students with disabilities effectively; participate as a member of individualized education program teams; and teach students who are limited English proficient effectively.
- Enrolled Students and Program Completers
Provides examination data for enrolled students in the most recent academic year, and program completers for the last three academic years.
