Addendum #2 for 15RFO002 for Consultant for Accreditation Data System for the Streamline and Strengthen the Accreditation Process (SSAP) Project has been posted. All key action dates remain the same.

Dr. Linda Darling-Hammond, Chair, Commission on Teacher Credentialing, takes stock of the new landscape for education in California and sets a resolution for the Commission in 2014.

In academic year 2012-13, more than 2,600 intern credentials were issued, while a decade ago, more than 7,000 credentials were issued. There has been a dramatic decrease in the number of intern credentials issued in the past several years. In spite of the decrease in the number of intern credentials, 956 out of 1100 districts and county offices currently employ teachers on intern credentials.

The Commission on Teacher Credentialing has one School Board member vacancy on the Committee of Credentials (Committee). The Committee reviews allegations of misconduct against educators. Applications are due by June 1, 2014.

The Title II data dashboards for academic year 2014-15 are now available. 

Coded Correspondence 16-12: DOJ Change in Dissemination Criteria for Dual Prints - Livescan: Application Type TCC/Teacher Credentialing (Replaces Coded Correspondence 16-11) is now available.

Any baccalaureate degree granting postsecondary institution that offers an accredited program of professional teacher preparation leading to a preliminary multiple or single subject teaching credential, or an education specialist instruction credential, may apply. Eligible applicants are not required to offer a Commission-approved subject matter program in order to apply for this grant. Note: updated to clarify indirect costs.

Child Development Permits are required for service in most publicly funded child development programs including all state preschool programs.
