Updates on the Commission’s Data Dashboards
The Commission has updated the Data and Reports section of the website to better assist individuals in searching for information available in data dashboards and reports. The most notable changes are the new look and improved functionality of the Educator Preparation Programs and Subject Matter Preparation Programs dashboards available on the Approved Programs and Institutions page. For information on how to use the dashboards, please visit the Commission’s “How to Use Dashboards” page to access the tutorial videos.

Classified School Employee Teacher Credentialing Program Request for Proposals
A school district, county office of education, or charter school may apply for funding to recruit classified school employees to participate in a program designed to support their completion both of an undergraduate degree and a Commission-approved teacher preparation program so that they can become qualified to provide instructional service as credentialed teachers in the public schools. Proposals are due by 5 pm September 29, 2017.

Governor Brown has signed AB 872, a bill sponsored by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing, which strengthens the Commission’s authority to safeguard students. This bill links the Education code to the Sex Offender Registration Act, ensuring that the Commission will continue to have up-to-date authority to protect students in the future.
