The October 18, 2021 Webinar on the Implementation of AB 130: Subject Matter Requirement is now available for viewing on the Subject Matter Requirements webpage. The PowerPoint used in the webinar has also been posted separately on this same webpage.  Additionally, the CTC Online system has now been updated and can take recommendations with these new options.

Coded Correspondence 21-05: Assembly Bill 130: Availability of New Options to Meet the Subject Matter and the Basic Skills Requirements is now available.

With the passage of the 2021-22 State Budget agreement, California expanded the choices available to teacher candidates by permitting, for the first time, relevant collegiate-level coursework to be used to meet the Basic Skills and Subject Matter requirements in lieu of the California Basic Education Skills Test (CBEST) and the California Subject Examination for Teachers (CSET).
