CIA 19-04: Provisional Internship Permit and Short-Term Staff Permit Update on CTC Online is now available for view in the CIG. The purpose of this CIA is to inform  California public school employing agencies that Provisional Internship Permits (PIP) and Short-Term Staff Permits (STSP) are now available to be submitted through CTC Online. The CIA provides directions on setting up access and submission of documentation using the new checklist Form CL-866, Provisional Internship Permit (PIP) and Short-Term Staff Permit (STSP) Checklist.

Effective May 1, 2019, the Commission’s customer service phone lines will be open from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday, except state holidays.

A newly revised edition of the CTC Online Submission Handbook has been completed to reflect updates that have been made to the online submission process. A link to the handbook can be found in the CIG on the CTC Online page.

Update on Subject Matter Competence and Student Teaching

Reminder of sunset date for deferral of a performance assessment or Reading Instruction Competence Assessment (RICA) examination for preliminary credential candidates.

The next meeting of the Committee on Accreditation will be held on Thursday, March 21 beginning at 9:00 a.m. The meeting agenda is posted on the Commission’s website. The public is invited to join in person at the Commission offices or via Zoom. Please review the meeting agenda for additional information regarding public participation.

Answers to written questions about the RFA has been updated and posted on the Commission’s Grant Funded Programs webpage. DELPI Grant applications due to the Commission by 5:00 pm on Friday, April 5, 2024.

Commission staff will host office hours to answer questions about the SB 488 Literacy Certification process by Preliminary Multiple Subject, Education Specialist, and PK-3 ECE Specialist programs needing to submit between April 26, 2024 and October 4, 2024. Staff will be available to answer questions about the process as outlined in PSA 24-01. The schedule for the first of these is as follows: Friday, March 15: 3:00 – 4:00 pm (Zoom Link)
