General Information

The Education for All Handicapped Children Act of 1975 established free appropriate public education, including special education and related services, to all handicapped children to meet their unique needs. Students are placed in educational programs according to their needs as determined by their Individualized Education Programs (IEP). Educational environments are adapted to fit the needs of the students with disabilities and exceptional needs. The Education Specialist Instruction Credentials and the Special Education Specialist Instruction Credentials authorize special education instruction.
