The Commission on Teacher Credentialing issues various types of credentials, certificates, and permits. Many of these documents require renewal on a regular basis. It is the credential holder's responsibility to complete the requirements for the renewal of their document. The renewal code(s) and renewal requirement(s) for each credential, certificate, and permit were printed on the face of the document until September 1, 2008. Since that date, all documents issued by the Commission are available only in a view and print format, available on the Commission's website.

To renew this credential, the holder must complete a Commission accredited categorical program in the disability area listed on this document. The holder must also complete a minimum of 150 clock hours of activities that contribute to his or her competence, performance, and effectiveness in the education profession and that assist the holder in meeting or exceeding the California Standards for the Teaching Profession.
