The Commission on Teacher Credentialing issues various types of credentials, certificates, and permits. Many of these documents require renewal on a regular basis. It is the credential holder's responsibility to complete the requirements for the renewal
of their document. The renewal code(s) and renewal requirement(s) for each credential, certificate, and permit were printed on the face of the document until September 1, 2008. Since that date, all documents issued by the Commission are available
only in a view and print format, available on the Commission's website.

For each five-year renewal of this credential, the holder must complete a minimum of 150 clock hours of planned and approved professional growth activities and one-half of one year of experience as specified in The California Professional Growth Manual. The holder has already used the one-time two-year extension available for this credential; the professional growth and service requirements must be completed before another clear credential can be issued.
