The Commission on Teacher Credentialing issues various types of credentials, certificates, and permits. Many of these documents require renewal on a regular basis. It is the credential holder's responsibility to complete the requirements for the renewal of their document. The renewal code(s) and renewal requirement(s) for each credential, certificate, and permit were printed on the face of the document until September 1, 2008. Since that date, all documents issued by the Commission are available only in a view and print format, available on the Commission's website.

This Associate Teacher Permit may not be renewed. To receive the Child Development Teacher Permit the holder must verify completion of the following requirements: either (1) twenty-four semester units of course work in early childhood education/child development, 175 days of experience in an instructional capacity in a child care and development program, and sixteen semester units in general education, or (2) an associate or higher degree in early childhood education/child development or a related field, including a three-semester-unit field experience, or the equivalent, in an early childhood setting, or (3) equivalent training.
