General Information

Two items designed for credential analysts, the New Credential Analyst Guide and the General Application Submission and Processing Manual, have been added to the CIG, providing an overview of the Commission and credential processes, along with detailed information useful for assisting educators and for submitting both online and paper applications.

The New Credential Analyst Guide provides detailed information on the Commission on Teacher Credentialing and the different divisions that make up the Commission. Included in the guide are division resources and contact information, an overview of California education institutions, the educator preparation process, CTC Online overview, and basic information on how applications are submitted and flow through the Commission. This guidebook is designed for the new credential analyst, whether working at the Commission or in the field, who may not have prior knowledge of the Commission, educator preparation, or the credentialing process.

The General Application Information: Submission and Processing Manual provides more detailed information on the application submission process. It includes details on:

  • fees
  • credential dating
  • fingerprinting
  • returned applications
  • application forms
  • online application status codes
  • submitting supporting materials
  • common credential terms and definitions
  • transcripts
  • CTC examinations

The purpose of the manual is to provide a resource for credential analysts who may be assisting educators with the submission of applications.
