The State Collaborative for California’s Educator Workforce in conjunction with the Commission has developed new resources to make high-quality teacher preparation programs more accessible to prospective teacher candidates and teacher preparation program providers.
Prospective teacher candidates will benefit from updates to the Commission’s Roadmap to Teaching in California, which can help them explore differences between the major teacher preparation pathways and learn more about available financial resources.
Teacher preparation program leaders will appreciate the searchable database of funds they can apply to make their programs more attractive and valuable, as well as realistic strategies for developing and sustaining residency programs.
These resources are also infused with research findings that may help programs and candidates plan their next steps. The Collaborative is facilitated by WestEd and includes efforts to improve affordability for candidates of color and candidates who will serve early childhood and multilingual learners.
