The Commission on Teacher Credentialing issues various types of credentials, certificates, and permits. Many of these documents require renewal on a regular basis. It is the credential holder's responsibility to complete the requirements for the renewal of their document. The renewal code(s) and renewal requirement(s) for each credential, certificate, and permit were printed on the face of the document until September 1, 2008. Since that date, all documents issued by the Commission are available only in a view and print format, available on the Commission's website.

Regardless of the expiration date listed above, this credential or permit expires with the waiver if the holder does not satisfy the Basic Skills Requirement. If the holder satisfies the Basic Skills Requirement, he or she may substitute until the expiration date. To continue to serve as a substitute teacher after this credential or permit expires, the holder must apply through the school district or county office of education where he or she is employed or is seeking employment, directly to the Commission, and must include verification of satisfying the Basic Skills Requirement.
