The Commission on Teacher Credentialing issues various types of credentials, certificates, and permits. Many of these documents require renewal on a regular basis. It is the credential holder's responsibility to complete the requirements for the renewal of their document. The renewal code(s) and renewal requirement(s) for each credential, certificate, and permit were printed on the face of the document until September 1, 2008. Since that date, all documents issued by the Commission are available only in a view and print format, available on the Commission's website.

This permit may not be renewed. To continue to serve in the position authorized by this permit, the holder must qualify for the Preliminary Visiting Faculty Single Subject Teaching Credential. To qualify for the Preliminary Visiting Faculty Single Subject Teaching Credential, the holder must have been issued the Visiting Faculty Teaching Permit; provide two years of recent evaluations from a California public school employer covering employment based on the Visiting Faculty Permit; complete a three semester or four quarter unit departmentalized methodology course; hold a California English learner authorization; and must apply through the employing agency.
