The Commission on Teacher Credentialing issues various types of credentials, certificates, and permits. Many of these documents require renewal on a regular basis. It is the credential holder's responsibility to complete the requirements for the renewal of their document. The renewal code(s) and renewal requirement(s) for each credential, certificate, and permit were printed on the face of the document until September 1, 2008. Since that date, all documents issued by the Commission are available only in a view and print format, available on the Commission's website.

Here are some examples of where the renewal code can be found on your credential if it was issued prior to September 1, 2008:

  • Pursuant to Welfare and Institutions Code Section 11350.6, this temporary document is valid for only one hundred and fifty days. The law does not permit any extension of this temporary document. Requirements for issuance of this document for its full term have been explained in a letter to the applicant.
