The Commission on Teacher Credentialing issues various types of credentials, certificates, and permits. Many of these documents require renewal on a regular basis. It is the credential holder's responsibility to complete the requirements for the renewal of their document. The renewal code(s) and renewal requirement(s) for each credential, certificate, and permit were printed on the face of the document until September 1, 2008. Since that date, all documents issued by the Commission are available only in a view and print format, available on the Commission's website.

To qualify for the Clear Level II Credential, the holder must do the following: (1) complete two years of successful experience in a full-time position providing services to deaf and hearing impaired pupils who are enrolled in state special schools or in special classes for pupils for hearing impairments, while holding a preliminary credential, and (2) complete an assessment of his or her job related skills as described in the enclosed manual. The employing agency must enclose a letter with the application for renewal signed by the three panel members who performed the assessment verifying the holder's proficiency on the job. It is the holder's responsibility to inform the employing agency of the need for this assessment.
