The Commission on Teacher Credentialing issues various types of credentials, certificates, and permits. Many of these documents require renewal on a regular basis. It is the credential holder's responsibility to complete the requirements for the renewal of their document. The renewal code(s) and renewal requirement(s) for each credential, certificate, and permit were printed on the face of the document until September 1, 2008. Since that date, all documents issued by the Commission are available only in a view and print format, available on the Commission's website.

This preliminary credential may not be renewed. To qualify for the clear credential, the holder must complete two years of successful experience in a full-time administrative position in a public school or a private school of equivalent status while holding this preliminary credential. The holder must maintain his or her valid prerequisite credential. In addition, the holder must complete a Commission-approved Administrative Services Credential clear induction program and obtain an online recommendation for the clear credential from the induction program sponsor.
