The Commission on Teacher Credentialing issues various types of credentials, certificates, and permits. Many of these documents require renewal on a regular basis. It is the credential holder's responsibility to complete the requirements for the renewal of their document. The renewal code(s) and renewal requirement(s) for each credential, certificate, and permit were printed on the face of the document until September 1, 2008. Since that date, all documents issued by the Commission are available only in a view and print format, available on the Commission's website.

  • The holder will qualify for the preliminary credential if he or she satisfies the Basic Skills Requirement, continues to serve in an administrative position, and applies for the preliminary credential, and the prerequisite credential, prior to the expiration date of this document. To qualify for the clear credential, the holder must complete two years of successful experience in a full-time administrative position in a public school or private school of equivalent status while holding a credential authorizing the service, must maintain his or her valid prerequisite credential, and must obtain the recommendation of a college or university with a Commission-approved program verifying the completion of an individualized program of advanced preparation designed in cooperation with the employing agency and the college or university.
