The Commission on Teacher Credentialing issues various types of credentials, certificates, and permits. Many of these documents require renewal on a regular basis. It is the credential holder's responsibility to complete the requirements for the renewal of their document. The renewal code(s) and renewal requirement(s) for each credential, certificate, and permit were printed on the face of the document until September 1, 2008. Since that date, all documents issued by the Commission are available only in a view and print format, available on the Commission's website.
Here are some examples of where the renewal code can be found on your credential if it was issued prior to September 1, 2008:

This credential may not be renewed. However, the holder will qualify for the emergency credential if he or she satisfies the Basic Skills Requirement and applies for the emergency credential through the employing school district, county, or agency prior to the expiration date of this document. To renew the emergency credential, the holder must seek admission to a college or univeristy that has a Commission-approved program for the clear credential which authorizes this service, must complete a minimum of six semester hours of course work approved by the college or university as applicable toward the credential each year, and must apply through the employing school district, county, or agency.
