Renewal Codes

The Commission on Teacher Credentialing issues various types of credentials, certificates, and permits. Many of these documents require renewal on a regular basis. It is the credential holder's responsibility to complete the requirements for the renewal of their document. The renewal code(s) and renewal requirement(s) for each credential, certificate, and permit were printed on the face of the document until September 1, 2008. Since that date, all documents issued by the Commission are available only in a view and print format, available on the Commission's website.

Here are some examples of where the renewal code can be found on your credential if it was issued prior to September 1, 2008:

• For credentials issued through the early part of 2005 [PDF]
• For credentials issued shortly after the start of 2005 [PDF]
  

To renew this permit, the holder must verify the completion of fifteen semester units of course work from a regionally accredited four-year California college or university completed since this permit was issued; must verify continued enrollment in a regionally accredited four-year California college or university; and must submit an application form and fee through his or her employing school district or county office of education, or directly to the Commission.
