Renewal Codes

The Commission on Teacher Credentialing issues various types of credentials, certificates, and permits. Many of these documents require renewal on a regular basis. It is the credential holder's responsibility to complete the requirements for the renewal of their document. The renewal code(s) and renewal requirement(s) for each credential, certificate, and permit were printed on the face of the document until September 1, 2008. Since that date, all documents issued by the Commission are available only in a view and print format, available on the Commission's website.

Here are some examples of where the renewal code can be found on your credential if it was issued prior to September 1, 2008:

• For credentials issued through the early part of 2005 [PDF]

This permit may not be renewed. To continue to serve as a substitute teacher, the holder must receive a bachelor's or higher degree from a regionally accredited college or university and apply for an Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit or another appropriate teaching permit or credential.
