The Commission on Teacher Credentialing issues various types of credentials, certificates, and permits. Many of these documents require renewal on a regular basis. It is the credential holder's responsibility to complete the requirements for the renewal of their document. The renewal code(s) and renewal requirement(s) for each credential, certificate, and permit were printed on the face of the document until September 1, 2008. Since that date, all documents issued by the Commission are available only in a view and print format, available on the Commission's website.

To renew this emergency permit, the holder must verify admission to a college or university that has a Commission-approved program for the specialist instruction credential which is a prerequisite for the Resource Specialist Certificate; must complete a minimum of six semester hours of coursework approved by the college or university as applicable toward that credential; and must apply for renewal through the employing agency. The employing agency must verify that the holder has been provided with an experienced educator to guide and assist the holder throughout the term of this permit.
