The Commission on Teacher Credentialing issues various types of credentials, certificates, and permits. Many of these documents require renewal on a regular basis. It is the credential holder's responsibility to complete the requirements for the renewal of their document. The renewal code(s) and renewal requirement(s) for each credential, certificate, and permit were printed on the face of the document until September 1, 2008. Since that date, all documents issued by the Commission are available only in a view and print format, available on the Commission's website.

To renew this postponed permit for an additional two-year period, the holder must complete a minimum of four semester hours of course work toward a bachelor's degree or in early childhood education. To receive the regular permit, the holder must verify possession of the bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university and completion of a minimum of sixteen semester hours of course work in early childhood education.
