The Commission on Teacher Credentialing issues various types of credentials, certificates, and permits. Many of these documents require renewal on a regular basis. It is the credential holder's responsibility to complete the requirements for the renewal of their document. The renewal code(s) and renewal requirement(s) for each credential, certificate, and permit were printed on the face of the document until September 1, 2008. Since that date, all documents issued by the Commission are available only in a view and print format, available on the Commission's website.

To renew this permit for an additional two-year period, the holder needs to submit only an application and fee prior to the expiration date. To renew this permit for life, the holder must verify the completion of a minimum of one year of successful experience completed during the valid period of this permit. A year of experience is paid or volunteer service in a child development program for not less than two hours per day, for at least one hundred days during not more than three school years.
