Renewal Codes

The Commission on Teacher Credentialing issues various types of credentials, certificates, and permits. Many of these documents require renewal on a regular basis. It is the credential holder's responsibility to complete the requirements for the renewal of their document. The renewal code(s) and renewal requirement(s) for each credential, certificate, and permit were printed on the face of the document until September 1, 2008. Since that date, all documents issued by the Commission are available only in a view and print format, available on the Commission's website.

Here are some examples of where the renewal code can be found on your credential if it was issued prior to September 1, 2008:

• For credentials issued through the early part of 2005 [PDF]

The holder may renew this credential for a period of validity not to exceed that of the prerequisite credential. If the prerequisite credential is valid for life, the holder may renew this credential for five-year periods.
