The Commission on Teacher Credentialing issues various types of credentials, certificates, and permits. Many of these documents require renewal on a regular basis. It is the credential holder's responsibility to complete the requirements for the renewal of their document. The renewal code(s) and renewal requirement(s) for each credential, certificate, and permit were printed on the face of the document until September 1, 2008. Since that date, all documents issued by the Commission are available only in a view and print format, available on the Commission's website.

Here are some examples of where the renewal code can be found on your credential if it was issued prior to September 1, 2008:

To renew this postponed permit for an additional two-year period, the holder must complete a minimum of four semester hours of course work toward a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university. To receive this permit for life, the holder must verify completion of the following: a bachelor's degree; twelve semester hours of course work selected from the areas of child development, child psychology, early childhood education, family life education, or other appropriate behavioral science; and one year of experience in a children's center program within the two years immediately preceding the application for renewal.
