Renewal Codes

The Commission on Teacher Credentialing issues various types of credentials, certificates, and permits. Many of these documents require renewal on a regular basis. It is the credential holder's responsibility to complete the requirements for the renewal of their document. The renewal code(s) and renewal requirement(s) for each credential, certificate, and permit were printed on the face of the document until September 1, 2008. Since that date, all documents issued by the Commission are available only in a view and print format, available on the Commission's website.

Here are some examples of where the renewal code can be found on your credential if it was issued prior to September 1, 2008:

To renew this regular permit for an additional five-year period, the holder needs to submit only an application and fee prior to the expiration date. To receive the life permit, the holder must verify the completion of five years of experience in the last ten years, earned while possessing or being eligible for the permit, at least two years of which must have been continuous full-time employment while holding a regular supervision permit. A year of experience is paid or volunteer service in a child development program for not less than two hours per day, for at least one hundred days during not more than three school years.
