The Commission on Teacher Credentialing issues various types of credentials, certificates, and permits. Many of these documents require renewal on a regular basis. It is the credential holder's responsibility to complete the requirements for the renewal of their document. The renewal code(s) and renewal requirement(s) for each credential, certificate, and permit were printed on the face of the document until September 1, 2008. Since that date, all documents issued by the Commission are available only in a view and print format, available on the Commission's website.
Here are some examples of where the renewal code can be found on your credential if it was issued prior to September 1, 2008:

This permit has been extended for one year to allow the holder time to complete course work which he or she was unable to finish during the five-year term of the regular permit due to exceptional circumstances. An additional one-year extension may be issued when the holder completes a minimum of eight semester hours of course work leading to a bachelor's degree taken at a regionally accredited college or university. To renew this permit for a full five-year term, the holder must verify the completion of fifteen semester hours of course work leading to a bachelor's degree taken at a regionally accredited college or university since the date the permit being extended was issued.
