Reading Literacy Added Authorization (formerly Reading Certificate)

Effective November 24, 1997, the Reading Certificate authorizes the holder to assess student reading and to provide instruction in response to the assessment. The holder is also authorized to develop, implement, and adapt the reading and content curriculum, and to assist classroom teachers in these areas. These services may be performed at one or more school sites at the grade level authorized by the holder’s prerequisite credential. Effective April 1, 2016, this document is now issued as the Reading Literacy Added Authorization.
