  • Segment

  • One of the four main types of entities within California’s education system, including Institutions of Higher Education (IHEs) which comprise three of the four segments and K-12 school districts, or Local Education Agencies (LEAs), which comprise the fourth segment. The three IHE segments are the California State University (CSU), the University of California (UC), and Private/Independent Colleges and Universities (AICCU). Program sponsors not included within one of these four main segments are categorized as “Other.”

    On the Commission dashboards, there may be data for “No Segment”.  “No Segment” indicates the credential holder earned the credential via out-of-state or other preparation pathway. No institution will be associated with the segment.
