A Clear Credential is a teaching credential with no further academic requirements to be completed that was issued prior to September 1, 1985. Professional growth and successful service are not required for renewal, only submission of an application and current processing fees. With the implementation of Senate Bill 1209, signed in September 28, 2006, professional growth requirements are no longer a prerequisite to renewal and the Commission once again began to issue clear credentials.
