County superintendents are required to annually collect data and monitor educator assignments for California's lowest performing schools ranked in Deciles 1, 2 and 3 of the base Academic Performance Index (API), excluding charter schools. This page includes data reported to the Commission on the numbers of educators legally assigned outside of the authorized subject area(s) on their credential for these schools based on options available in the California Education Code in the 2011-12 and 2012-13 school years.

For additional information on Educator Misassignments, please reference the biennial reports on Assignment Monitoring in California, available on our Commission Reports page.
