The Learning to Teach System Ten Years Later: Lessons Learned, Places to Grow April 5th and 6th, 2011

This two-day conference will examine the results, benefits, and challenges California educators have seen after a decade of implementation of the Learning to Teach System (LTTS). Keynote speakers include Carl Cohn, Claremont Graduate School and past Superintendent of Long Beach Unified School District., and P. David Pearson, UC Berkeley, past Dean and Chair, Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Andrea Whittaker of Stanford, formerly of San Jose State, will speak on how we define & assess teacher quality. Other activities include expert panels, best practice and breakout sessions by stakeholder groups.
Audience: Educators across the Learning to Teach System including Paraprofessional Program Directors, Preliminary Teacher Preparation Program Directors, Intern Program Directors, BTSA Induction Program Directors, and IHE Leaders.
