The order of business within each day may be changed without notice. All items may be re-ordered to be heard on any day of the noticed meeting. Persons wishing to address the Commission on Teacher Credentialing on a subject to be considered at this meeting are asked to complete a Request Card and give it to the Recording Secretary prior to the discussion of the item.

The Committee will consider approval of the minutes of the October 2007 meeting of the Executive Committee.

1B: Proposed Revision to the Commission Policy Manual
The Executive Committee will take action to recommend revisions to the Commission Policy Manual to change the current interview process for applicants to the Commission’s two statutory committees: the Committee of Credentials and the Committee on Accreditation. The new process will utilize an ad hoc interview committee appointed by the Chair which will made recommendations to the Commission.

This agenda report presents recommendations for approval of proposals submitted by local education agencies and institutions of higher education for initial institutional approval and single subject matter preparation programs.

3B: Fifth Year of Study Program Standards and the Option of Extending a Preliminary Multiple or Single Subject Credential
This agenda item addresses the routes to the Multiple and Single Subject Clear Credential and is in two parts. Part I brings forward the recommendation from stakeholders to add two additional program standards to the Fifth Year of Study Program. Part II presents a plan for the availability of a two year extension of the preliminary credential.

This report, developed by the Special Education Work Group, examines the structure and requirements of the Education Specialist and other related services credentials and makes proposed recommendations for consideration by the Commission.

This item is the first in a series of items focusing on Career Technical Education (CTE). The item reports on SB 52 (Chap 520 Stats 2007) signed by the Governor on October 12, 2007. This item also describes the current CTE credential structure, the current policy initiatives related to CTE, and the initial recommendations from the CTE Advisory Panel.

This item would propose to amend Commission policy to require all interns complete foundational preparation before an Intern Credential is issued. In order to meet NCLB "Highly Qualified" status, all interns must complete pre-service preparation.
