All times are approximate and are provided for convenience only except time specific items identified herein (i.e. Public Hearing). The order of business within each day may be changed without notice. All items may be re-ordered to be heard on any day of the noticed meeting. Persons wishing to address the Commission on Teacher Credentialing on a subject to be considered at this meeting are asked to complete a Request Card and give it to the Recording Secretary prior to the discussion of the item.

This agenda item continues the discussion begun at the October 2008 Commission meeting related to the teaching of mathematics in California.  The focus of this item is the authorization statements for documents that authorize the teaching of mathematics.

This agenda item presents the proposed revisions to the Multiple and Single Subject Clear Credential program standards.  The draft standards will be brought back to the Commission at a future meeting for consideration and adoption.

1H: Examining the First Four Years of Williams Implementation
The Williams v. California settlement legislation was enacted just over four years ago with the intent of establishing "a floor, rather than a ceiling, and a beginning, not an end, to the State of California’s commitment and effort to ensure that all California school pupils have access to the basic elements of a quality public education." Brooks Allen, the ACLU's statewide Williams implementation attorney, will discuss the impact of the settlement legislation, as well as the evolution of the Williams standards and accountability systems.
