All times are approximate and are provided for convenience only except time specific items identified herein (i.e. Public Hearing). The order of business within each day may be changed without notice. All items may be re-ordered to be heard on any day of the noticed meeting. Persons wishing to address the Commission on Teacher Credentialing on a subject to be considered at this meeting are asked to complete a Request Card and give it to the Recording Secretary prior to the discussion of the item.

This agenda item will present the proposed standards, preconditions, and authorization statements for Education Specialist Teaching Credentials, including authorizations in Communication Development, Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Early Childhood Special Education, Mild/Moderate, Moderate/Severe, Physical and Health Impairment and Visually Impaired.

2D: Authorizations to Teach Mathematics
This agenda item presents information on the different documents that authorize an individual to teach mathematics. In addition, the item provides data on the numbers of individuals earning credentials to teach mathematics, the mathematics subject matter requirements, the passing rates of the CSET mathematics examination, pedagogical preparation to teach mathematics, and how students in the public schools are scoring on the standardized mathematics examinations.

This agenda item provides information about the activities of the Reading Language Arts Specialist Credential Advisory Panel and reports on the panel's first meeting.

This item introduces the concept of a third tier teaching credential for Commission consideration. Staff will describe the origins of this concept and report on a brainstorming meeting held with stakeholders. Staff seeks direction from the Commission about further exploration and consideration of the topic.

The proposed amendments pertaining to the Single Subject Teaching Credential Authorization to include an authorization for Foundational-Level General Science are presented for public hearing.
