3A: Adoption of Proposed Induction Standards
This item presents the proposed Standards of Quality and Effectiveness for Teacher Induction Programs, as required by SB 1209 (Chap. 517, Stats. 2006) for adoption. Further, this item addresses the issues of Preconditions and Common Standards as they relate to induction programs.

3B: Program and Institutional Approval
This agenda item presents three single subject matter programs and three induction programs for approval. In addition, it presents one program sponsor for initial institutional approval and recommends the withdrawal of institutional approval for one program sponsor.

The Fresno Assessment of Student Teachers (FAST) is an alternative Teaching Performance Assessment (TPA) model developed by California State University, Fresno. The model has been reviewed based on the Commission’s Assessment Design Standards, and the review team has forwarded a recommendation to the Commission for approval of this alternative TPA model.
