The order of business within each day may be changed without notice. All items may be re-ordered to be heard on any day of the noticed meeting. Persons wishing to address the Commission on Teacher Credentialing on a subject to be considered at this meeting are asked to complete a Request Card and give it to the Recording Secretary prior to the discussion of the item.

Staff will recommend that the Committee approve the minutes of the June 2004 meeting of the Appeals and Waivers Committee. After review, the Committee may approve, or amend and approve the minutes.

These waiver requests have been reviewed by staff and meet the criteria adopted by the Commission.

Consideration of credential appeals is held pursuant to Title 5, California Code of Regulations, Section 80514. Hearings are conducted pursuant to Government Code Section 11126(c) and Title 5, California Code of Regulations, Section 80516.

Staff will present analyses of educator preparation or licensing bills introduced by legislators. The analyses will summarize current law, describe the bill's provisions, estimate its costs, recommend amendments if applicable, and propose a recommendation. The Commission will be asked to take a position on the measures. Positions for the Commission to consider are: Sponsor, Support, Support if Amended, Approve, Approve if Amended, Seek Amendments, Watch, Disapprove, Oppose Unless Amended, and Oppose.
