Computer Science Supplementary Authorization Incentive

General Information

The California state budget, signed by the Governor in July 2021 includes $15 million in funding for the Computer Science Supplementary Authorization Incentive Grant Program. One-time grant awards of up to $2,500 per participating teacher are available to Local Education Agencies (LEAs) to support credentialed teachers to obtain a supplementary authorization in computer science and provide instruction in computer science coursework in settings authorized by the underlying credential. There is a 100 percent match requirement for each grant dollar received. Matching funds may be actual funds and/or in-kind as outlined in the authorizing legislation.

• Computer Science Supplementary Authorization Incentive Grant Program – Round Ten
  One-time grant awards of up to $6,000 per participating teacher are available to Local Education Agencies (LEAs)— school districts, county offices of education, state-operated education program, state agency education programs, or regional occupational center operated by a joint powers authority or county office of education- interested in securing funds to increase the number of credentialed teachers authorized to provide computer science instruction. The Commission is currently accepting applications for the Computer Science Grant Program.

Annual Data Submission Information

As part of the mandatory data collection and reporting requirement for the Computer Science Supplementary Authorization Incentive Grant Program, LEA grantee must provide all requested data to the Commission for evaluation and reporting. Please carefully read the information below on how to access and complete the data spreadsheet and additional resources. Data submission is due on Friday, July 16, 2027 by 5:00PM.

Directions

The individually shared spreadsheet is managed by the Commission and the data will be updated annually by the LEA grantee lead during the life of the grant. Do not create and share a new spreadsheet with the Commission- it will not be reviewed.

Annual Data Submission: Data for the 2026-27 year is due on July 16, 2027 by 5:00PM. Grantees will no longer need to email CSGrant@ctc.ca.gov to verify that the data reporting requirement has been met. Instead, there is a question on the Summary Narrative tab that collects this information.

Office Hours

Support sessions will be offered on one Wednesday of each month from 1:00PM – 2:00PM. Office hours are drop-in, free-flow, and no RSVP is required.
