Cost Recovery Fees – California Code of Regulations Section 80692

Pursuant to Education Code section 44374.5, the Commission is authorized to collect fees for both regular and extraordinary accreditation activities. The fee structure, as outlined in California Code of Regulations section 80692, is provided below.

Initial Institutional Approval – $2,000

An institution seeking to offer new educator preparation program(s) must first be approved for initial accreditation as a new program sponsor and must do so by completing the Commission’s Initial Institution Approval (IIA) process. The process includes five stages: Stage I – Prerequisites; Stage II – Eligibility Requirements; Stage III – Provisional Approval; Stage IV – Initial Program Approval; and Stage V – Provisional Site Visit and Full Approval.

Follow Up Accreditation Activities

  • Focused Site Visits and Revisits: $1,000 for each individual attending visit
  • Late Reviews: $500
  • Review of Reports for Site visits with Stipulations that do not require a revisit: $500
    Note: This fee is applied for each report – each quarterly, 6 month/mid year reports, and report to address stipulations.
  • Review of Report Associated with a Site Revisit: $1000
