The first-of-its-kind Clear School Nurse Services Credential program offered by a local education agency was approved during the April 2024 Committee on Accreditation meeting.
The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) will soon offer the program in an effort to ensure that every school has a fully credentialed school nurse to eliminate health disparities of its diverse student populations and communities.
“LAUSD serves a large number of students and families that are eligible for Title I services and the school nurse for many of these families are the first access point to health care services,” said Marco Nava, LAUSD administrator of induction and credentialing.
