Description of Out-of-Country Requirements Graphic

The Out-of-Country Requirements Graphic explains the requirements for an out-of-country teacher to obtain a Preliminary teaching credential and a Clear teaching credential.

A Preliminary credential requires the following:

• Photocopy of out-of-country credential
• Application packet
• Completion of a teacher preparation program with student teaching ^[1]
• Bachelor’s degree ^[1]

A Clear credential requires the following:

• All the requirements of the Preliminary credential
• Induction program
• Basic Skills Requirement
• CPR (infant, child, and adult)
• Other requirements specific to the type of credential
• Subject Matter Competency
• U.S. Constitution course

[1] Must be verified on a foreign transcript evaluation from an approved agency.
