Assignment Monitoring
This section defines the process of monitoring certificated educator assignments, including responsibilities of a local educational agency and its monitoring authority, assignment authorizations, hiring priorities, and relevant statutes and regulations.
Assignment Options
This section provides information on the various options available to local educational agencies to legally authorize educators in certificated assignments, including emergency permits currently issued by the Commission, supplementary and subject matter authorizations, and flexibility in Education Code and Title 5 Regulations (commonly referred to as “Local Assignment Options”).
CalSAAS
This section is related to the California Statewide Assignment Accountability System (CalSAAS), including the CalSAAS User Manual, video tutorials, and resources to support a local educational agency and its monitoring authority during the annual assignment monitoring process.
Resources
This section presents a variety resources to support California’s credential analysts, including currently issued authorizations, and assignment-related training videos.
Services
This section covers non-instructional/non-classroom based certificated assignments, such as Administrative Services, Pupil Personnel Services (i.e., School Counselor, School Psychologist, etc.), Health Services, Librarian Services, and Speech Language Pathology services. This section also covers the Commission-issued documents that authorize each type of service.
Settings
This section defines the various instructional settings found in California’s public education system and the Commission-issued documents that authorize each setting.
