PSA 20-06: Program Modification Document PSA-20-06 provides details for the Program Modification document and what it needs to address. There are a number of program flexibilities that have been put in place by the Commission, other flexibilities were put in place by Executive Order N-66-20, and additional flexibilities were included in the 2020 Budget Trailer bill. Appendix A to this PSA identifies each of the flexibilities.

PSA 20-13: Guidance to Teacher Induction Programs About Supporting New Candidates Impacted by COVID-19 PSA 20-13 provides Teacher Induction programs with guidance on structuring support for preliminary teachers enrolled in programs for the 2020-2021 academic year who have requirements yet to complete that were deferred due to COVID 19, including the Teaching Performance Assessment, RICA examination, and/or additional hours of fieldwork.

PSA-20-16: Senate Bill 820 Signed by Governor Newsom Extends COVID Flexibilities for Academic Year 2020-21 On September 18, 2020, Governor Newsom signed into law Senate Bill 820 (Committee of Budget and Fiscal Review), as part of the Budget Trailer Bill language. With this action the Governor has extended – by one year – the temporary flexibilities previously included in Executive Order N-66-20. As part of a Budget Trailer Bill, this extension goes into effect immediately, ensuring no gap in coverage for qualifying candidates. The flexibilities in the Executive Order (EO) applied only to candidates in academic year 2019-2020 who were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, as specified. Senate Bill (SB) 820 extends those same flexibilities to candidates in academic year 2020-2021 who have been affected by conditions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
