Due to the recent fires that have ravaged parts of Northern and Southern California this week, resulting in evacuations, school closures, and suspension of district and county office operations, the Commission and the Center recognize there are CalED program applicants in these affected areas who will need more time to complete their grant applications.
The Governor has declared a state of emergency in Napa, Sonoma, Yuba, Butte, Lake, Mendocino, Nevada, and Orange Counties. Applicants from these areas will be granted an extension of the application deadline to November 3, 2017. This means electronic and paper copies of proposals from applicants in the declared emergency areas must reach the Commission on Teacher Credentialing by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 3, 2017.
Applicants who are not from the declared emergency areas or whose consortium applications do not include an LEA located in one of the above-indicated emergency areas must comply with the original application deadlines of 5 p.m. on October 27, 2017 for both electronic and paper copies to reach the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
