It is an objective of the State of California to achieve a drug-free state workplace. The examination bulletin provides all of the information about the examination process. It outlines how, when, and where to apply; who can apply; examination information; salary; minimum qualifications; knowledge and abilities required; position information; and list information.
All applicants must meet the education and/or experience requirements for an examination. Individuals meeting the minimum qualifications may apply to take an exam, which is competitive. Possession of the entrance requirements does not assure a place on the eligible list.
For most examinations, the standard State application form (STD 678) must be completed and submitted as indicated on the examination bulletin. When noted, a special Supplemental Application form may be required.
