This page reflects the work of the Professional Services Division (PSD) of the Commission and is primarily intended for Colleges and Universities, Districts and County Offices of Education, and Induction Programs that offer or seek to offer preparation programs for California educators.
The Professional Services Division of the Commission on Teacher Credentialing is responsible for:
- the development of California's educator preparation standards for all credential areas
- ensuring quality of preparation programs through accreditation activities
- the development and administration of California's system of educator examinations
- administration of California's state funded educator development programs

Single Subject Matter Preparation Technical Assistance Meeting - November 17, 2008
The Commission will sponsor a meeting for programs either developing or revising documents for approved subject matter programs in English, mathematics, science, social science, art, music, languages other than English, physical education, agriculture, business, health, home economics, and industrial and technology education. The meeting will be held at the Commission, 1900 Capitol Avenue in Sacramento from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring documents-in-progress and program materials for a document development workshop in the afternoon. This meeting will also be available on audio at www.ctc.ca.gov/live.html. Please contact Helen Hawley, hhawley@ctc.ca.gov, to reserve a place at the meeting.

Career Technical Education (CTE) Technical Assistance Meetings - October 24, 2008, November 7, 2008, November 20, 2008
The Commission will hold technical assistance meetings for Designated Subjects Career Technical Education Programs to submit for approval under the new standards approved at the August Commission meeting. All programs currently approved will expire on August 1, 2013; however, programs approved under the new standards can begin as soon as they are approved by the Commission. The October 24 meeting will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Commission (1900 Capitol Avenue, Sacramento); the November 7 meeting will be held at National University's Spectrum Center, Room 118 (9388 Lightwave Avenue, San Diego) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. For details of this facility, please see the following link: www.nu.edu/Locations/SanDiego/Spectrum.html Please contact Helen Hawley, hhawley@ctc.ca.gov to reserve a place at the meeting.

Biennial Report Technical Assistance Workshops- Register Now!
Technical Assistance Workshops for the Biennial Report Process will be held on October 21 at Chapman University in Orange, California and October 23, 2008 at the Commission offices in Sacramento. While all are welcome, individuals from institutions in the Red, Yellow, and Indigo cohorts, with biennial reports due in 2009 are especially encouraged to attend.
