This page reflects the work of the Professional Services Division (PSD) of the Commission and is primarily intended for Colleges and Universities, Districts and County Offices of Education, and Induction Programs that offer or seek to offer preparation programs for California educators.

The Professional Services Division of the Commission on Teacher Credentialing is responsible for:

• the development of California's educator preparation standards for all credential areas
• ensuring quality of preparation programs through accreditation activities
• the development and administration of California's system of educator examinations
• administration of California's state funded educator development programs

• Elementary Subject Matter Programs Survey
  The Commission is interested in collecting information about subject matter preparation for elementary teachers and about Elementary Subject Matter (ESM) programs. • MS/SS Program Standards--Required Elements
  Edits to remove the Required Elements have been proposed by a panel. In addition, the panel has included language on both Blended and Intern delivery models in the standards. • Pupil Personnel Services Credentials Issued: 2001-02 to 2006-07 [PDF]
  Approximately 1,500 credentials were issued in PPS and another 3,000 to 4,000 authorizations were renewed each year.

• Career Technical Education (CTE) Technical Assistance Meeting - October 24, 2008
  The Commission will hold the first technical assistance meeting for Designated Subjects Career Technical Education Programs to submit for approval under the new standards which were approved at the August Commission meeting. All programs currently approved will expire on August 1, 2010; however, programs approved under the new standards can begin as soon as they are approved by the Commission. The meeting will be held at the Commission from 10 a.m. to 3pm. Please contact Helen Hawley, hhawley@ctc.ca.gov to reserve a place at the meeting.
