Teaching English Learners

I have completed at least 12 upper division or graduate semester units of CLAD course work and am ready to apply for my CLAD Certificate

To apply for the CLAD Certificate, submit all of the following:

  • A completed application (form 41-4) [PDF]

  • Application processing fee [PDF] of $55.00

  • Official transcripts (or copies if filed through employing agency) showing completion of at least 12 upper division or graduate semester units of CLAD course work

Submit all of the above through your employing agency or mail your packet directly to the Commission at:

NOTE: Individuals must hold an appropriate prerequisite credential or permit and, for those without a bachelor's degree, satisfy the CLAD second-language requirement. See Crosscultural, Language, And Academic Development (CLAD) Certificate [PDF] for additional information.
