How do I add a subject to my adult or vocational credential?

To add a subject, you must be recommended by a Local Education Agency (LEA). Click here [PDF] for a list of Commission-approved LEAs. The Commission cannot add subjects to any Designated Subjects Teaching Credentials issued prior to May 10, 1995.

What is acceptable documentation to verify passage of the General Educational Development (GED) test, a high school diploma, or the foreign equivalent of a high school diploma?

General Educational Development (GED) TestSubmit a photocopy of your GED test results with your application packet
High school diploma earned in the United StatesSubmit one of the following:
  • Photocopy of diploma
  • Photocopy of high school transcripts
  • Photocopy of a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college or university, including junior college or community college
