Child Development Permits - Early Childhood/Preschool

Can I renew online if I have had a conviction?

Yes. During the online renewal process, you must answer all questions on the page titled 'Personal and Professional Fitness'. If you answer "yes" to any of the questions, you must type an explanation in the space provided.

Must I apply for my permit through the Child Development Consortium or can I apply directly to the Commission?

Either way is acceptable. However, you may want to ensure there are no funding-related issues that may arise due to submitting your application directly to the Commission office. Contact the Child Development Consortium for additional information.

Does the original permit need to be returned with the new application packet?

If during the Commission's evaluation of my application, you find that I am eligible for a higher permit than what I requested, will you simply grant me the higher permit?

Either way is acceptable. However, you may want to ensure there are no funding-related issues that may arise due to submitting your application directly to the Commission office. Contact your college for additional information.
